2012 Run for the Son
2012 Run for the Son started out at Carol and Arvid’s house at 9am with food and fellowship. At 10:15, we kicked off with prayer and bible reading about the loaves and fishes, mounted up, and headed out to Oneonta. Foggy, heavy mist, cool temps prevailed for most of the ride, but there was some nice scenery to take in, that is, when you could see. Met up with several other chapters at the Spirit and Truth Church, where we socialized for a while and then gathered together for our 1pm prayers. Spirit and Truth put on some fine food for us (the HOT Chili was outstanding!!!) More fellowship and then off for ice cream (of course). After Ice Cream we bailed out separately, with Bill, Fred and I running up Rt 7. We came upon Ted, Jeremy and Susan stopped, helping a fallen rider (not with our group). Bill administered “first responder” aid, we set up traffic control, and waited until the police, fire and rescue got there. We prayed for the fellow (Ben Morris), and stayed until he was taken away on the ambulance. I also prayed with his family and friends (apparently they lived nearby and got to the scene pretty quickly). Sad thing was, as we were coming upon the scene, cars were not stopping and actually driving right between Ben and his bike … the love of many has indeed grown cold! Back on the road again, stopped for gas and did a bike blessing for 3 guys from Pennsylvania on their way home from Rhode Island, who had also pulled in for gas. Got home around 6 – not sure how many (if any) got to Gallupville for Spaghetti, or to Schoharie for the concert … All in all, it was a good day! Thanks for all who gave their support, financially and/or with prayers! Check out the pics in our gallery.
April Honor Flight – Dark and Chilly
Kickstands up was pretty early on Saturday, April 28th, as the first Honor Flight for 2012 left Schoharie Park-n-Ride at 5:45am. at 28 degrees, the hill up out of Schoharie on I88 was covered with black ice, but we all (about 50 bikers, the bus, assorted cars and State Police escort) made it up safely, picking up another 10 bikers at Duanesburg for the remainder of the escort ride to the Airport. Rumor has it that it was even colder for the PGR contingent escorting more vets from Warren County. About 35 of the greatest generation WWII Vets went to DC for the day, and it was an honor to be a part of their initial escort. We hit Denny’s for fine breakfast fare (and warmth) before carrying on with the rest of Saturday.

Saturday at the Grace Race

We had a great time yesterday helping out at the Grace Race in Middleburgh. With an EARLY start to the day, we helped with registration, set up the tents and tables, broke out the cooking gear, setup the food, cooked, served, and had a great time. Rod and Frank helped out on the course during the race, while the rest of us (Carol, Arvid, Mike, Kristie, Wes, Norinne, Fern, Joe and yours truly) cooked and served. CRR passed it’s first “food inspection”, in spite of Arvid’s antics at the grill lol. Check out the rest of the pics in our photo gallery!
Good Friday
Why do we call it Good Friday, when it is the day Jesus died? In His own words, recorded in John 19:30 Jesus said “it is finished”. His perfect sacrifice once and for all completely removed the separation between man and God due to our sin, as was represented by the thick veil in the Temple (which was torn from top to bottom when Jesus died). At that point, Jesus won the battle with Satan, and through that sacrifice we can have a loving and complete relationship with God our Father. Not through a priest, not through our sacrifices, not through any “good works” we could do, not through any “religion” – but only through a personal acceptance of that sacrifice made for our sins, paid by Jesus, paid in full, paid in blood. That my friends is why it truly is Good Friday! What have you done with that sacrifice? Is it Good Friday to you, too?
Motorcycle Escort for Shawn Wellman
We’ve been asked to provide a motorcycle escort for Shawn Wellman, son-in-law to Harold and Nancy Gotobed, on April 5th. Shawn passed away suddenly this past weekend. As Shawn was a biker, his wife thought he’d appreciate a biker escort / send-off from the funeral home in Canojaharie to the cemetary in Fort Plain. Whoever can make it, bundle up and meet at Mike and Kristie’s no later than 9am and we will ride out together.Church Visit & The Passion This Sunday
We are visiting Berean Baptist Church this Sunday and then going to Grace for a special viewing of the Passion of the Christ (lunch somewhere in between). Meet at Arvid and Carol’s no later than 9am Sunday morning, or just meet us all at Berean (491 Main St. Rt 146, Guilderland Center) at 10:15am.

It pays to know scripture
An elderly woman had just returned to her home from an evening of religious service when she was startled by an intruder. As she caught the man in the
act of robbing her home of its valuables, she yelled, “Stop! Acts 2:38!”
[Repent]
The burglar stopped dead in his tracks. Then the woman calmly called the police and explained what she had done. As the officer cuffed the man to take him in, he asked the burglar, “Why did you just stand there? All the old lady did was yell a scripture at you.” “Scripture?” replied the burglar, “She said she had an axe and two 38s!”

December 25th Happy Birthday Jesus
Luke 2: 1-20
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
